Thankful Thursday

Today, I read of a young mother passing away due to cancer. My heart breaks for her family. I cannot imagine what she endured and how she felt knowing this was the hand she was delt.

I want to thank God today for my beautiful, smart, spunky, independent daughter and my smiley, kissable, adorable little guy; for my health--which I feel like I take for granted at times; and for my husband who goes to work early and comes home late just to make sure we can keep the lights on and food on the table.

Thank you God for today, because although we were all running on fumes, at least we were still running.

Prayers and comfort for those who have lost a loved one too soon. May you find peace and healing in God's loving arms.

6 Minutes

I have exactly six minutes until the weekend is officially over. Bah!

This weekend was super busy but such a good time. Mucho family time! Which was great. Friday evening we ventured out to do some late afternoon grocery shopping and hit up Steak-n-shake for supper. It was the very first time by ourselves with the kids out to eat as our family of four. We don't go out to eat much--mainly to make up for buying double diapers...but also because we run a tight budget and I happen to enjoy cooking. Steak-n-shake was a success. Ava was good. Lane was good. And we survived! Woo!

Saturday was pretty crazy--but mostly good crazy. We had our first experience with a babysitter other than family. As soon as she got there Lane threw up. Literally the second she walked thru the door. Thank goodness my mom was willing to watch him so me and Brian could go to the wedding reception for a bit to have a mommy/daddy date night. Lane was instantly better when we dropped him off but I still checked my phone every ten minutes just in case. ;) Also, Ava hasn't stopped talking about Angel, the babysitter. We would love to have that girl again! :)

All weekend long the kids have both been in a great mood. Sleeping good. Life is just good. Does it really have to be Monday tomorrow? 😢

Seriously those two little people are the best thing that have ever happened to me.

A few tables away from where we sat at the reception was a table full of people that I used to hang out with. Honestly, it made me glad to be sitting at a table-- enjoying an evening with my husband, thinking about my kids and knowing tomorrow wasn't going to begin with a hangover and a wake up call from a friend to get a ride to their car. My tomorrow was going to start with "Mommy? Can I have some milky?" And that is just fine with me :)
